I received an email from your good selves wondering why I hadn't been on the forum for a while and thought it might be good to explain.

I feel really unhappy with the advertising that is coming up currently. I did post a feedback thread at the time. Having just had a quick look at the new threads I see that the problem is still there except now it is even worse.

I realise that advertising is an important source of revenue for forums such as this but I feel very uncomfortable with how it is here, especially considering the nature of the forum.

For example, the most recent thread started is from someone seeking relationship advice from their Christian brothers and sisters. In the middle of the genuine replies is an advert disguised as a reply, promoting a website that brings together men and 'sexy Thai women'.

Please, please, please can you stop this. It is highly inappropriate for a Christian website.

As we are made aware of the url's we contact google and remove deny them to be shown on our site. Unfortuantely until we are made aware of the site, we cannot remove them.

So the best thing you can do is let us know of the url's associated with the ad. If you see something offensive, click the ad, then goto the addres bar and send me a pm of the url. I will then deny it from being shown.

This is a major draw back to using google ads. Unfortuantely since users do not want to donate to help support the site we have no other choice. Is you are willing to pay to support the site, then we can remove the ads. Unfortuantly, most people want to use and not give. So we are caught between a rock and a hard place.

Is there still a link to donate? I'm not seeing it. I agree that the ads should go and think that we should come together and support this site as a group.

Yeah there is a big link on the front page on the left that says Donate.

The problem that most folks are not willing to put their money where their mouth is to use an expression. That's ok. We started this to be a ministry and it will always be that. It would be nice if folks who can help out would. Clicking on links is a great way to help, especially if its a bad one and we need to block it.

I don't want to have to goto a subscription serivce, so it would be great if everyone can do a little.

Okay. I found it on the forums page. Maybe you can add a link to the "Home" page and the "New Posts" page also. I sent off a donation and hope that others will follow suit if they can help. Every little bit helps. It is really great to have this forum and the chat, and would be an even greater experience without the ads.

I agree Sam. I would love to completely remove all the ads. However as you know we need to keep the lights on. If the complete user base is willing to move to a subscriptiopn model, then we can do it. Until then... we gotta keep the ads

I went ahead and add a Donate link to the top header bar. What do you guys think?
