I've been listening to Christian music a long time, and I need to find some new bands. Some of my favorite bands when I first got into Christian rock have retired like Petra, OC Supertones, Plankeye, and Audio Adrenaline.
So if you have any suggestions on new music to check out, please let me know, Thanks!! Last edited by BrianB; 07-13-2009 at 08:30 AM. |

Music is new if its new to you. I tend to discover older bands and get excited about them. Recently my love for a British band called The Sundays lead me to a Christian band called Innocence Mission.
Innocence Mission is a band with Husband and wife Don and Karen Peris from the 90's. If you havent heard this band you are in for a real treat. Karen's voice is nothing short of sublime. Interestingly, they toured with Natalie Merchant. One of my favorite songs by them is "Bright as Yellow" and there is a real treat on youtube of Innocence mission doing "Over The Rainbow." Get ready to choke up if you watch that video, especially if you are in a somewhat low mood. Innocence Mission manages to impart purity and the desire for righteousness without sounding trite or cliche which is a rarity in CCM. Meow-meow, Catpaw |

I really like Skillet, Alien Youth was a classic album but I was really blown away by Comatose. I was really impressed with how it sounded, the arrangements, and the raw energy. I never would have guessed having strings mixed in with hard rock would work so well. I'm looking forward to the new album coming out!
