Decemeber the 25th is unlikely to be the date of the birth of Jesus Christ. Why doesnt the bible say when he was born exactly?

Does it really matter when he was born? He came as the baby Jesus so that we might be saved from our sins. He took it all for us, so what does it matter if we have an excect date for his birth and his death or recseraction and accencion in to heaven to be with our heavenly father to bid for our salvation . He did it and that is all there is to it!!!
