in my hands is another day
a new canvas to paint.. new words to say
what can i do to make today change
from all the days before that increased my pain

will i make the right choices and do the right thing
will i build something real or waste my time on a fling
will i honor and respect the ones who deserve it
will i give what i have to do somebody else a service

on this day im choosing to make a new decision
say a different phrase... try a different way of living
searching to fill the place where something was missing
pray that my past sins will soon be forgiven

i feel like God loves me because at least i try
let the good in me live and the evil thoughts die
i know life is precious ... so u might ask me why
i continue to do things to make someone cry

it hurts when you love but the love doesnt grow
relationships come and your best friends may go
maybe from sun to a place that has snow
or be freed from this cell to where our spirit can flow

another day to pray another day to learn
set fire to my old ways and let them all just burn
2day is a new day for me to strive
its another day and were all just living our lives
