The population of australia was 17.5 million in 1992. Now we have more people The capital of australia is Canberra. Most australians don't think much about our capital city. It is quite a boring place to visit, maybe because the nations capital is where our parliament is located...urgh..politicians! I live in an old gold rush town, maybe you have heard of the Eureka stockade? It happened almost on my doorstep! They still mine for gold here and have a tourist place called 'Sovereign Hill' that you can visit and go back in time to see how people lived in the gold rush era! Australians have a strange sense of humour, I know I do anyway.
