I thought it was "all the little babies love short'nin', short'nin, all the little babies love short'nin bread."
What is it, anyway here is an old recipe I found ![]() 1 3/4 cup flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 to 2 Tablespoons sugar 1 cup milk 1 to 2 eggs 2 to 4 Tablespoons short Sift dry ingredients, add milk eggs and short, beaten together. Stir only enough to blend, ingredients. Bake in moderate oven 25 minutes. This recipe came out of a cookbook that belonged to my great great granny when she was young... She got it with a bag of Town Crier Flour. A moderate oven... is 350. If you use medium or large eggs you need 2... if you use extra large eggs just the 1. The sugar is a matter of taste... LOL. |
