The following constitutes the general rules for using the The Christian Chat Net IRC Network. Please note that IRC Operators reserve the right to remove a user's access at any time. IRC is a privilege, NOT a right.

Attitude - Respect God and be reverent toward His Word. The IRC channels contained on this network are not here to argue about whose religion is right or wrong. The Christian Chat Net does not discriminate in any form against anyone. People from all walks of life are welcome here. However, we here at The Christian Chat Net base our policies concerning acceptable chat behavior on Christian beliefs and morals found only in the Bible. If this is unacceptable to you please /quit now and find another server.

Hebrews 13:17 - Obey your leaders and submit to them for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. (NASB)

Opinions - Do not criticize a channel's leadership or rules. Public criticizing any channel rules will result in a server ban. The channels contained on this network are run by their respective owners and not by The Christian Chat Network. If you are not in agreement with a channel's rules, please select another channel. You can type /list for a current list of channels. If you have a problem with a channel or channel owner, please use the Channel Feedback Form. The channel owner will contact you shortly.

We do not handle AKILL or Channel complaints online because it leads to arguments. There are no exceptions to this rule, please respect this.

Nicknames - Nicknames that are not becoming of Christian morality are not to be used here. (e.g. - sexy-woman, cyber-babe, etc.) Users that do not follow this rule will have their nicks forcefully changed and if they continue, possibly server banned. Nicknames that are the names for God (e.g.- Jesus, SonofGod, etc.) are not allowed. Please honor ops requests if asked to change your nickname.

Swearing and Vulgarity - While an occasional vulgar word can be forgiven, there will be NO swearing tolerated in ANY channel on The Christian Chat Network. This network is of mixed ages, so there may be minors about.

Pornography/Cybersex - This network will permit NO adult-only channels. Channels created for the explicit advertisement or trading of pornography will NOT be permitted (see our guideline on ADVERTISING). Failure to abide by either of these rules will result in the permanent banning of both the channel and the founder.

There will be absolutely no mention, trading of, or advertising of pornography in ANY channel.

CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IS STRICTLY OUTLAWED, AND ANYONE OR ANY ENTITY FOUND TO BE DEALING IN SUCH WILL BE REPORTED TO THEIR HOME COUNTRIES' POLICE FORCE, WITH PROOF THAT THEY ARE ABUSING THE "PROTECTION OF CHILDREN" ACT OF 1996.

Hentai is considered borderline child pornography and henceforth will not be allowed.

Advertising - Advertising (also known as "spamming") of channels, websites, or anything else is strictly prohibited. If you wish to create your own channel centered around a website or subject and wish to advertise it in its own topic, feel free to do so.

Warez - Warez, since it is illegal, is prohibited. No exceptions. Violation of this rule will earn a short-term ban the first time, and a permanent ban thereafter.
Hacking, Phishing, Carding, etc. All of these subjects are illegal; therefore, you may not create a channel about such subjects nor may you discuss them in any channel on The Christian Chat Network. Violators will find themselves first warned, then banned.

Bots - Eggdrop bots and script bots are welcome NOT welcome unless they are pre-approved. If a person wants to have a bot allowed, all they have to do is email chatbot@christian-chat.net. Please do not abuse this privilege or it may be revoked completely.

Cloning - Each user is allowed three (3) connections at any one time. Abuse of this privilege will earn first a warning, then a ban of limited time. Repeated abuse of this privilege will result in a permanent ban. Please note that we reserve the right to remove ANYONE at ANYTIME without an excuse. Should you have problems, please write to chatbot@christian-chat.net.

File Servers - File servers, as a rule, are not permitted here. Simple DCC of files from one person to another is not considered a file server.

Wingate/Proxy servers -  Wingate, open Socks, and other Proxy servers are strictly prohibited. YOU WILL BE BANNED IF YOU HAVE OPEN SOCKS OR PROXY SERVERS. If you find yourself being banned for having such a server, you will have to write to chatbot@christian-chat.net in order to work it out.

Scripts - Scripts are allowed as long as they are not malicious and do not lead to the harm of this network. War scripts and the like are strictly prohibited.

Flooding - Flooding of channels, other users, or the network in general is strictly prohibited. First offense will result in a short-term ban; continued offenses will result in a permanent ban. Flooding of an IRCop, other Network Administrator, or the network in general will result in a PERMANENT BAN. This includes anyone observed connecting/disconnecting a minimum of 5 times within 5 minutes. If you are connecting/disconnecting due to a problem that we can resolve, email chatbot@christian-chat.net and we will see if we can help you.

Harassment - Everyone of any age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, creed, or race is welcome here. This network strictly prohibits any sort of harassment, including racial slurs, stalking, religious slurs, or any other behavior which results in a user or users feeling harassed. Harassment of this network, its users, or Administrators in any way shape or form, will not be tolerated, either on this network or in any publicly accessible forum.

The first verified complaint will result in a short-term ban; continued harassment will result in both a permanent ban and a complaint filed with the perpetrator's ISP.

Do not falsely accuse other users or act in any manner other than Christ Himself would. Remember Satan is the accuser of the brethren.

If you feel these rules are too strict or unfair, remember one thing: God gave us the Bible. It contains rules for all of us to follow, rules that are designed to guide our daily lives and bring us closer to God. He set down these rules not to suppress us or to condemn us, but to protect us from our own actions. He gave us rules because He cares about us. Whenever we choose to violate these rules, the result is always the same: we get hurt.

This server is meant for the glory of God. Refusing to follow these rules will result in a server ban.
