I wanted to pose this questions, to the users. Please let me know what you think.
At this point CCNet in it's current form has been around over 15 years. We have had our ups and downs. BrianB and I have been running this chat network with the help of many great people, for almost 1/2 of our entire lives. Is it time to move on? Between BrianB and I we have had many discussions recently related to the future of CCNet and the overall direction of this online ministry. Each of us struggle with the decision for different reasons. We have literally grown up. In my case I have a wife and a 4 year old. I have a career now, I have other interests. With the motorcycle accident earlier in the week the topic has been brought up once again. I pose the question to all of you. Should we keep the chat portion of CCNet going? Should we keep just the online forums going? Or is it time to close down CCNet and ride off into the internet's sunset like many other websites in recent years? What are your thoughts and opinions? Dear Brians,
I believe this network is important, not only to me personally, but to many others. I don't get out a lot, and I don't have many Christian friends. To me this place has been a safe place to meet other believers and share in fellowship. I have come to know quite a few chatters well in the year I've been here. I have become friends with some, and others I call family. Many are as close to me as my own family are. They have shared, at a distance, in my sorrows and my joys. When our van was stolen and all seemed hopeless, they comforted me and lifted me up. When my grand-daughter was conceived, they shared my joy and joined me in praying for her when she was born prematurely. They also shared many hard times and good times. In turn, I have shared in their heartaches and sorrows, have helped to lift them up, and have rejoiced with them. Coming here and ministering, and being ministered to, has helped me develop the confidence and resources to develop in the ministry God has called me to in my life. To close this network would mean one less light in the darkness, one less candle to keep out the night. Would life go on without this place? Yes. Would souls still be won? Yes. But it would not be a happy victory to see this place go. I believe many people that come here have a vested interest in keeping this network alive. Thank you for considering my opinion, and the opinions of others, in whatever choice you make. Regardless of what happens, we will continue to uplift, support, and pray for you, and all the others here. May God guide you as you make your decision. God bless, Darren Crook (Ducky) |

Hi,
I just wanted to add, that the contribution of this network, at least to me personally, has been immense. It is an important part of my spiritual journey, as a believer. I can also say this for the dozens of people I have counseled on the CCNET chat. They have benefited from this network. I sincerely wish that the network would remain on and grow, to benefit those who log in. A big hearty THANK YOU!! to the owners and those who contribute to running this network. 1 Corinthians 15:58 [niv]: Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Last edited by Yeti; 07-17-2010 at 01:43 AM. |

Yes keep it going........... scripture in word about the 99 sheep.......... LUKE 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Jesus wants us to reach that ONE that got/gets lost in the wilderness who comes here, Each ONE reach ONE. How can we not keep it open, the question isnt should we keep it open the question is how can we NOT keep it going. Would not Jesus stay open even if only for the one who needed Him most??? 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? [15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Time is so short, weve GOT to reach them anyway we can, and you have great opprotunity this way to do so. So my vote is YES keep it open. Thats the word of the Lord in scripture above. Not sure how much my opinion will carry :O) blessings to all of you. Stay in him............. will keep you brians in prayer. AmazingGrace Last edited by AmazingGrace; 07-17-2010 at 02:10 AM. I agree with most of the comments so far. I have made a lot of friends in chat, many that I have talked to now for years. It is a great, nice, clean, often uplifting chat, and I would be sad to see it go.
God bless, Brian(bmb777) |

Blessings Brian
I too believe that this opportunity is vital and also desperately needed when you see some of the options on the internet and also the lack of options for believers to support, care and have fellowship with each other all over the world. The past months have been very difficult for us *but* God has been very gracious and we are getting there by His grace. I knew that when I was able to get online again I could both ask for prayer and also to have fellowship with my brothers and sisters here. Whatever you decide to do, I am grateful for finding this oasis that has helped and greatly encouraged me. In His loving service john

Dear Mr. BrianO,
First off, I would love to thank you for your hard work and dedication to this chat site! I haven't been here long at all, but I do love this place. I pray the God will use you in mighty ways! I do hope you continue to keep this site. It has been heaps of fun! And, i'm very passionate about keeping in touch with my fellow Christians and this is one way of doing that. May you bring full Glory to God. Peace to you, GTF
